Details

Palladium is a rare and lustrous silvery-white metal and one of six precious metals in the platinum fam- ily. Because of its workability and cost, in recent years more and more jewelers are adding this rich grey metal to their repertoire, both as a replacement for nickel in white gold alloys and as a jewelry metal used as 95% palladium. Learn to work with this attractive metal as you prepare, measure, and mill metal and fabricate a simple bezel ring in palladium. Learn how to use a tapered bezel block, how to solder palladium, set a stone and then finish your ring, all in just two days. Prerequisite: Fabrication 2 or experience. JIM DAILING was captivated by jewelry making in 1977, and he has fed his passion ever since. With BFA and MFA degrees, Jim has worked as a goldsmith and jewelry designer. Jim’s work displays his vision, mastery of metals, and his love for hand work.
